The world’s premier autistic green queen returned with their vision for utopia.

Fresh from the success of their Brighton Fringe Award-winning debut The Gloopshow, Oozing Gloop returned with their brand new show GLOOPTOPIA!

This hilarious and fantastical journey took the audience into a new utopian landscape via abandoned islands, halls of history and places of family legacy.

The audience joined Gloop as they attempted to find psychoactive solutions for psycho-pathetic citizens trapped behind the very screens that are there to help them communicate.

GLOOPTOPIA! is a direct challenge to the notion that people with Autism “struggle with social imagination” and also to the simple fact it’s easier to imagine the end of the world than the end of capitalism.

We have a wealth of apocalyptic omens, disaster movies and critique; but zero 21st century post-capital-culture.

Oozing Gloop defies this with revolutionary zeal to open radical new spheres of imagination through the unveiling of a new language of political hope for these troubled times.

GLOOPTOPIA! includes integrated British Sign Language interpretation

This event was part of the New Queers on the Block Weekender – Three days of performance, screenings and cabaret in venues across Hastings and St Leonards from 5-7 March 2020. It was shown as part of a Double Bill with Lucy Hutson’s BOUND

More about the artist
OOZING GLOOP is the world’s premier green queen with Asperger’s. Her interdisciplinary practice seeks to put a very particular voice out into the world.

Troublesome, camp and revolting she has a long history of attending protests, left-wing living, benefits scrounging, gig based economies, affirmative action, structural neglect, personal degradation and euphoric emancipation.

She has led workshops before in the process of her one-off Zine “Serious Fun” (About why nothing is as much fun as having fun) and also her club night “The Yeast London Cabaret.” Her most recent endeavour into the public political realm “The Gloop Show!” Won an award at the Brighton Fringe 2018 and was met with rave reviews.
