One Foot in the Groove

Vibrant and inclusive dance club tailored for older individuals in our community.

About

Our community dance club is all about celebrating movement, creativity, and connection. Launched in early 2020, the group’s regular members come together for choreography sessions and enjoy lively social events throughout the year.

Since 2023, the group has worked with acclaimed local choreographer Darragh O’Leary, running two 8-week seasons each year. Sessions focus on learning a new dance routine while exploring movement in a supportive and enjoyable environment.

Over the years, the group have performed at many events and venues, including the De La Warr Pavilion, St Leonards Festival, the Queen’s Jubilee celebrations at the Southbank Centre and Duckie’s Posh Club in Hackney.

One Foot in the Groove offers an inspiring opportunity to stay active, connect with others and share the joy of dance.

Visit the group’s 2020 blog to uncover how its members stayed connected and kept dancing through the uncertainties of the COVID pandemic.
