Good Stuff

A programme of creative projects, designed and led by local residents.

About

Good Stuff is a shared vision where Home Live Art and local communities join forces to come up with creative ideas to bring positive change to our town.

It builds on our earlier Good Stuff in St Leonards project, which brought many events and activities to the area and gave a voice to different groups.

Good Stuff aims to break down barriers that make it hard for marginalised communities to engage in the arts and is a key part of our artistic programme.

By creating space for experimental performances and community involvement to grow together, we ensure that our work becomes more impactful and accessible.

Home Live Art has recently secured significant funding from the Esmée Fairbairn Foundation to continue Good Stuff until 2026.

In their own words...

“Being part of the dance troupe has been such a great experience. Inhibitions are thrown aside, restrictions on movements due to stiff joints doesn’t matter. The best part is making new friends and laughing at our mistakes. It has been so much fun”

– One Foot in the Groove dance club member

“I got to know new people and made new friends, I love seeing passers-by interact with the project and I feel very proud to be part of something so beautiful that I genuinely believe makes our town a better place.”

– Painting the Prom participan

“The room was filled with such an exciting energy. As someone who has been born and raised in Hastings in a Black Jamaican family, this was a very positive experience in my hometown!”
