Presented by the Marlborough Theatre and The Space Arts and directed by Rosie Powell, New Queers On The Block – Hastings is an excerpt from New Queers On The Road, a film exploring the various nuances surrounding a tour of LGBTQ performance work around England.
From the excitement of traveling and performing in Hastings, to the importance of creating strong relationships with local communities. New Queers On The Block – Hastings features interviews with the Marlborough team as well as with artists and audiences about the experience of touring queer work in Hastings.
The scheme is developed and presented in partnership with Theatre in the Mill (Bradford), Live Art Bistro (Leeds), Home Live Art, Coastal Currents (Hastings), Quarterhouse Folkstone, ]performance s p a c e [, AB&B, Left Coast and QUAD (Blackpool). Supported using public funding by Arts Council England and with support from Jerwood Charitable Foundation.
