Letter To My Little Queer Self and other stories
When: Thursday 21st October 2021
Time: 7.30pm
Where: Cactus Hound, St Leonards-on-sea, TN37 6DJ
What would you say in a letter to your little Queer self?
During lockdown hotpencil press approached a collection of LGBTQ+ artists, writers, performers and activists across the world to write letters to their younger selves.
Some letters are playful, some are poignant, some are instructive and some are downright dangerous.
The resulting letter collection with all its diversity of backgrounds, approaches and styles is a homage to our collective and individual queer resilience.
This event will celebrate the publication of these stories with a selection of readings from the contributors and local queer folk alongside a conversation with the publication editors plus presentations from their past publications ‘There Is No Word For It’ and ‘The Butch Monologues’.
With live readings from Zed Gregory, Faryal Velmi, Oskar, Chryssy D. Hunter, Tink Flaherty, Katy Baird, Libro Levi Bridgeman and Serge Nicholson
Publications will be available to buy on the night or can be purchased now online via the hotpencil press website
This event is part of the Hasting Storytelling Festival, a programme of stories in libraries, parks, theatres, pubs, halls, fishing clubs and (just one or two) on your screen from 16-24 October 2021.
