Announcing Giddy Up
We’re proud to announce that our collaboration with New Queers on the Block continues with Giddy Up. Curated and led by producer Hannah Rose Fox, Giddy Up will take over the stages of Hastings with daring and defiant performances—queer at heart, welcoming to all.
"Over three years Giddy Up will platform unmissable performance from bold LGBTQ+ artists. The stages of Hastings (and you!) will see theatre at its most daring - a perfect fit for our town’s defiant creative spirit." - Hannah Rose Fox
The first event kicks off on Thursday 24th April 2025 with Lucy McCormick’s Lucy & Friends at the White Rock Theatre Studio—a riotous mix of pole dancing, cat impersonation and social policy reworks. Later in the year, on Saturday 7 June 2025, Stacy Makishi’s Walking Each Other Home at The Stables Theatre invites audiences into a world of rituals, queer provocations and radical intimacy. And in July a collaboration with Hastings Trans Pride will bring one of the hottest performers in the country to Hastings, announced on Trans Day of Visibility, 31st March 2025.
Giddy Up will also invest in local artists, offering two artist residences and hosting a Scratch Night selected through an open call in January 2025.
Commissioned by Home Live Art and New Queers on the Block, Giddy Up is set to reshape how LGBTQ+ work is experienced in Hastings, and we can’t wait!
