Why do we treat strangers better than our friends and family?

Since 2018, Tink Flaherty has been taking their bench out to public locations across the country and inviting strangers to sit with them, in a quest to find authentic forms of connection. And next stop for Tink is Hastings!

Benched is a unique exploration of human relationships – the formative and defining ones with those close to us, and the incidental meetings with strangers that stop us in our tracks.

Come and join Tink on their bench, to have a natter and exchange whatever feels right on that day, at that time.

Benched Sittings are gathered and woven into Tink’s constantly-developing performance ‘Benched’ which will be presented by Home Live Art at the Stables Theatre on Thursday 25th July as part of Trans Pride Hastings.

Part of Knotty, a festival of performance for the adventurous from 6 to 16 June 2024.
